INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS
copyright & liability
Artists own the copyright to their own work. We ask artists to allow
some images of their work to be used for certain, limited promotional use.
(newspaper articles, art reviews, webpage creation, etc) Artists agree
to exhibit work at their own risk.
commissions
Commission on any work sold at the gallery is usually 15% (25% maximum)
- 15% = 10% for the gallery and 5% for another local arts
group (chosen by the person buying the work) Diversity believes in supporting
the local arts community by giving a percentage of sales to a growing list of
local and regional arts groups. A list of those groups are posted at the gallery.
- 25% commission (maximum) is asked for only if your work is sold to a member of Diversity's support
group, "Friends of Diversity." Members of this group pay an annual fee to support
Diversity and get 10% off from any work they buy from the gallery.
- There are no commissions charged on work sold exclusively from your online Diversity
page. Your Diversity web page is provided as a gift to the artist as a tool to help the artist advertise their work. If a buyer contacts the artist directly to purchase their work, there is no commission charged but the artist is reponsible for all sales tax, etc. We only collect a commission on work sold from the gallery itself.
your Diversity page
Your web page can include anything from plain text to completely
designed HTML files. (with associated images, sound files, etc)
Attach it all to an email message and send it to: david at diversearts.com
We'll use those attachments to create and/or update your page.
We also have a digital camera, flatbed scanner and sound sampler
at the gallery to help you design your space. If this is all
new to you, please just ask. It's a free service to all artists and isn't
as complicated as it might sound.
"Only by identifying our interests and pleasures with those of others can we find
real happiness."
