COOPERATIVE MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHY
...applying our inclusive and egalitarian principles to the real world...
The management of Diversity is based on cooperative, egalitarian principles.
Decision making authority doesn't come from one person (or even one board or committee)
but is spread equally among a number of area and project coordinators. We rely on
artists who volunteer to become coordinators in areas that interest them personally.
As coordinators, they have full authority to make decisions on behalf of Diversity. This
empowers each artist to be as creative as possible as they follow their own interests.
Holding all this together is a commonly shared ideology
of inclusiveness. Equally important is an open communication process between the
coordinators that allows the information to be shared among us all. Diversity's
general coordinator is responsible for gathering and distributing this information.
Diversity's coordinators:
- David Labby - general coordinator
- Isabelle Massart - benefit art auction coordinator
- Gordon Rottman - life art drawing sessions coordinator
- Debra Russell - opening receptions coordinator
- Paula Scheuneman
- Natchitoches area coordinator
- Diversity Summer Art Camp coordinator
- Eva Williams
- VISTA projects coordinator
note: Eva has moved on to the world of art in Saudi Arabia...we wish
her the best! - dlab
